The scope of this course is to provide the student with the knowledge and skills to accurately develop and implement a complete and functional Program for the maintenance of protective ensembles; incorporating the information provided by the ensemble manufacturer with that of the organization.  In cooperation with the North Las Vegas Fire Department, Karl Beeman Inc. will present to a two (2) day seminar on the care and maintenance of protective ensembles and ensemble element for emergency services applications specific to structural firefighting and proximity firefighting.  The course shall be conducted at the North Las Vegas Fire Department, North Las Vegas, NV. The course shall be conducted in compliance with the following standards: o OSHA 28 CFR General Industry Standards. o NFPA 1500-2007. o NFPA 1851-2008.  Major components of the course include: o The Ensemble Elements. o Evolution of the Ensemble. o Mission of the Ensemble. o OSHA requirements for ensemble maintenance. o NFPA Standards applicable to protective ensembles. o OSHA requirements for injury and illness prevention associated with organizations performing on-site maintenance. o NFPA 1851-2008 Program Parts for:  Record Keeping.  Cleaning.  Inspection.  Repair.  Retirement.  Storage.  Training.  Employee Safety.
